Hot press mix course and studying to be an artist

Started the hot press music industry course the other evening there. I'm hoping to up the old media skills and get an incite into how other musicians are doing things and what the people in Radio/press land like to hear and see. My initial gut feeling is that the best thing that will happen through the course will be meeting the other musicians involved and learning from them, and to be honest that would be worth the few quid it costs for doing the course. It's not the first time I've 'studied' this topic, I did a masters in song writing a few years ago, I was sceptical of that when I started out. Good things happened though, I wrote an entire album that I otherwise wouldn't have got off my arse to do and I identified myself as being an artist/writer, that was important. I even managed to make a successful arts council funding application following the course! Anyways looking forward to the online classes and seeing what it brings, hopefully good things. Niall
